Former UFC Champion Set To Retire At UFC 290

It has been confirmed that former UFC Welterweight Champion Robbie Lawler will hang up his gloves at UFC 290 in July.

‘Ruthless’ is set to take on Niko Price in the final bout of the prelims for the International Fight Week event. Best known for his epic wars with the likes of Rory MacDonald and Johny Hendricks, Lawler’s career has set him apart as one of the most action-packed fighters to ever enter the Octagon. 

In his past two fights, Lawler got some revenge over Nick Diaz in a rematch more than a decade in the making at UFC 266 and fell to Bryan Barberena via TKO at UFC 276. The Barberena fight raised many eyebrows at the time due to it seeing Lawler be relegated to the prelims. 

During International Fight Week, Lawler’s blood-soaked classic war with Rory MacDonald from UFC 189 will be inducted into the Fight Wing of the UFC Hall of Fame.
