UFC welterweight contender Ian Machado Garry will get the step up in competition he desired for his next Octagon test.
Machado Garry will face one of his Kill Cliff FC teammates, Vicente Luque, at UFC 296 on December 16th. UFC President Dana White announced the news of the fight booking in a recent social media post.
The Irishman called out Stephen Thompson for his next UFC fight after defeating Neil Magny at UFC 292 last month. Thompson will also fight at UFC 296 against the undefeated Shavkat Rakhmonov.
Machado Garry vs. Luque is an intriguing stylistic matchup between two surging contenders. The Brazilian made an emphatic UFC return earlier this year in a main-event win over former UFC champion Rafael dos Anjos.
