Israel Adesanya Makes Prediction For Fight Between Former Opponents Alex Pereira & Jan Błachowicz At UFC 291

While reigning UFC Middleweight Champion Israel Adesanya will have his eyes on the July 8 pay-per-view as his next opponent is decided, the following numbered event may also be of interest to him.

At the end of that month, the promotion will be returning to Salt Lake City, Utah, for UFC 291. While the headlining rematch between Dustin Poirier and Justin Gaethje is gaining plenty of attention, the co-main event doesn’t fall too far short of it in terms of intrigue.

The penultimate fight on the PPV card will see former 185-kingpin Alex Pereira debut at light heavyweight less than four months on from a brutal knockout loss to Adesanya at UFC 287.

He’s set for a stiff test in his first taste of the heavier weight class, facing off against former kingpin Jan Błachowicz, who is currently ranked #3 at 205 pounds.

While Adesanya has felt firsthand what Pereira’s destructive equalizer is capable of, he’s expecting “Poatan” to have a tough time against the Polish powerhouse.
