A featherweight title unification rematch between current champion, Jordan Vucenic, and interim gold holder, Paul Hughes has been booked to take headlining honors at a Cage Warriors event on March 18.
Per the promotion’s broadcast team tonight at the Cage Warriors 131 event at York Hall in London, England – Vucenic and Hughes with headline a March 18. card in a featherweight championship unification bout, as the two re-run their Cage Warriors 119 clash back in December of last year where Vucenic emerged with a split decision win.
In the time since, Vucenic clinched the undisputed title with another close split judging victory against Morgan Charriere, before injuries prevented his return, resulting in the introduction of an interim title to the featherweight division. Vucenic’s last outing came in March of this year where he bested Charriere at Cage Warriors 122.
Also meeting Frenchman, Charriere in his most recent walk under the Graham Boylan-led banner, Fight Academy Ireland mainstay, Hughes clinched the introduced interim title with a majority decision victory in a surefire Fight of the Year contender in October at Cage Warriors 128.
