Nate Diaz Explains Why Jake Paul Trash Talking Conor McGregor's Partner Rubbed Him The Wrong Way

Nate Diaz can’t understand why more fighters on the UFC roster didn’t call out Jake Paul for the comments he directed at Conor McGregor and his long-time partner Dee Devlin.

“Problem Child” has now established himself as a major figure in the combat sports world, but back in 2020 he was just starting out his boxing career and hadn’t yet picked up wins over a number of former MMA stars. 

Paul was already interested in publicly suggesting a fight with McGregor at that point, and the 26-year-old attracted a considerable amount of criticism when he decided to direct some of his trash talk at Devlin. 

Diaz shared the cage with McGregor twice and is now set to box Paul in August, and apparently his decision to fight the YouTube star was at least partially motivated by his distaste for the trash talk directed at his former opponent. 

“He was talking s*** to Conor and dissing his wife and s***, and some real disrespectful stuff that he shouldn’t have been saying,” Diaz told Bradley Martyn. “And nobody’s saying s***. I’m the one that said ‘F***ing shut the f*** up b***h.’ That fool will whip your real a**, you’re a** for real. And have some respect. You’re gonna disrespect somebody’s wife and stuff like…
