While two titles will be on the line at this weekend’s pay-per-view, perhaps the most intriguing storyline heading into the event surrounds the return of former middleweight champion Chris Weidman.
The 39-year-old veteran hasn’t been in action since UFC 261 in April 2021, when he suffered a devastating leg break as a result of a kick just 17 seconds into his fight against Uriah Hall.
In the aftermath, Weidman underwent multiple surgeries and a lengthy period of rehabilitation on the sidelines. But despite the horrific nature of the injury, the New York native has long promised a comeback in pursuit of further glory in the cage.
That journey gets underway this weekend in Boston, where “The All-American” will share the Octagon with formerly ranked contender and ex-TUF competitor Brad Tavares.
But although Weidman is anticipating a successful return and subsequent push toward title contention, one ranked UFC fighter is predicting a tough night for the former champion this weekend.
