Former UFC title challenger Anthony Smith and Ryan Spann are set to meet in a rematch at UFC Singapore in August.
First reported by MMA Junkie’s Mike Bohn and Nolan King, the matchup on August 26 will take place just shy of two years after the first meeting between the two light heavyweights.
Spann entered that first fight riding the momentum of a violent first-round knockout over Misha Cirkunov, but Smith’s ground game proved too much for him to handle and the bout ended via first-round rear-naked choke.

Smith’s win over Spann in 2021 extended the 34-year-old’s winning streak to three fights. However, that’s also the last victory on his record after dropping back-to-back bouts against top light heavyweight competition.
“Lionheart” had a chance to potentially earn another shot at the light heavyweight title when he met Magomed Ankalaev at UFC 277, but a leg injury compromised Smith’s movement and set up a ground-and-pound finish in the second round.
