'I Was Hurt Bad' – Daniel Cormier Recalls Training Session When He Knew Chris Weidman Would Return

Daniel Cormier has detailed how Chris Weidman’s performance during a training session the two had made it clear that the former champion was ready to step back into the Octagon.

“The All-American” famously defeated Anderson Silva at UFC 162 to claim the promotion’s middleweight title, which he went on to defend three times before suffering his first career loss against Luke Rockhold at UFC 194.

The 39-year-old has had a difficult run since losing his middleweight belt. But after a broken leg sustained against Uriah Hall sidelined him for more than two years, Weidman is finally set to return this weekend at UFC 292 to take on Brad Tavares.

Cormier Details Training Session Where Weidman Hurt Him 

Plenty of fans are looking forward to Weidman finally getting back to action after his devastating injury, and Cormier seems to be especially excited based on the conversation they had leading up to UFC 292.
